Cefndir y Blog

Cychwynwyd y blog i gofnodi’r cydweithrediad digidol cyffrous a ddiwgyddodd rhwng Blwyddyn 4 yn Ysgol Glancegin ym Mangor gyda’r artist enwog Cymreig Pete Fowler. Partneriaeth fu’r prosiect rhwng Canolfan Mileniwm Cymru ac Ysgol Glancegin ym Mehefin 2014.

Cafodd Blwyddyn 4 eu hysbrydoli gan stori March Rhyfel (gafodd ei arddangos yn y Ganolfan o Mehefin 18 – Gorffennaf 19 2014) felly datblygwyd y prosiect ar sail y Rhyfel Byd Cyntaf. Y cynnyrch terfynol yw murlun sy’n trawsnewid hen gynhwysydd llong a ddefnyddiwyd i gadw offer chwaraeon. Er gwaethaf ffiniau daearyddol amlwg, roedd defnyddio technoleg digidol yn galluogi’r dosbarth gael y cyfleoedd cyffrous hyn, gan eu galluogi i gydweithio ag artistiaid a sefydliadau gannoedd o filltiroedd i ffwrdd ac ymwneud â’r celfyddydau mwy nag y gallai’r ysgol fod wedi ei ystyried yn bosibl o’r blaen.

Datblygu’r Blog

Mae adran gartref y blog hwn yn cofnodi’r Prosiect Digidol a’r broses o lunio’r murlun. Er i’r prosiect digidol ddod i ben mae’r Blog wedi datblygu i ddod yn ddathliad o’r gweithgareddau a diddordeb yr ysgol yn y Celfyddydau. Mae tudalennau wedi eu hychwanegu ar gyfer y prosiectau a’r artistiaid proffesiynnol yr ydym yn falch o gyd-weithio â hwy yn rheolaidd.

ENGLISH TRANSLATION

This blog was created to record the exciting digital collaboration between Year 4 at Ysgol Glancegin in Bangor and renowned London based Welsh artist Pete Fowler. The project was a partnership between Wales Millennium Centre and Ysgol Glancegin in June 2014.

Inspired by the story of Warhorse, (which was shown in Milliennium Centre Wales betwenn June 18 – July 19 2014), Year 4 based the project on the First World War. The finished product was a mural that they created to transform an old shipping container in the school car park used to house sports equipment. Even though there were obvious geographical barriers, the pupils used workshops via Skype and other digital explorations in order to work in collaboration with artist and arts establishments which were situated hundreds of miles away from the school. The pupils were recipients of opportunities that were totally impossible, without the use of digital technology that succeeded in cutting down geographical barriers.

 Developing the Blog

The home page of this blog is a record of the Digital Project and the process that took place when creating the mural. Since the end of the digital project pages have been included in the blog recording the school’s work in collaboration with other artist and other project that we are proud to be working with them, here in Ysgol Glancegin.
